I’m not a massive fan of the whole Lock Stock Brit Gangster genre but I love this advert featuring Vinnie Jones telling you how to save a life. The whole concept is not what you’d expect for a health and safety ad and he’s brilliant in it. I love all the little details like the way his sidekicks deliver the patient, the way everybody is dressed, the instruction to press the sovereign, the “geezahs” chatting in the distant background and the look on his face at the end.
Maybe that’s what’s so good about this - a 44 second advert that hints at a larger story. What are the men doing there? What’s the patient done to deserve his plight? And what’s going to happen to the poor sod now that Mr Jones has successfully resuscitated him?
